David Tamayo

David Tamayo has over 25 years of information technology experience. He is currently the Chief Information Officer for DCS Corporation, an aerospace defense engineering firm headquartered in Northern Virginia. For over six years he served as Technology Coordinator for international acquisitions at Willis Towers Watson and before that he was Computer Systems Officer at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC. He is a founder and active officer of Hispanic Business and Technology Council and Hispanic American Freethinkers, Inc. both non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations focused on teaching technology and critical thinking. Mr. Tamayo is the sponsor to the Langley High School Cybersecurity Teams that compete in the U.S Air Force National CyberPatriot Competition. He has published several articles on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and futurism in periodicals such as CIO Applications, Manufacturing Technology Insights, and CIO Review among others. Until about a year ago, he hosted the Television Show “Road to Reason – A Skeptics Guide to the 21st Century” which addressed current ethics, religion, and morality as it relates to science, politics, and doubt. He is one of the founders of Camp Quest – Chesapeake, a summer camp for secular parents. He is a member of the Society of Information Managers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Mr. Tamayo holds a MS degree in Management in Information Technology from University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems from the George Washington University.
